When we have too much emotional pain, we can't truly live free. Our brains are wired to avoid pain at all costs. We will do anything in our power to prevent pain or run from pain when it is activated. The countless strategies we create to avoid pain include distraction, addiction, people-pleasing, self-criticism, perfectionism, & performance. All of our strategies work for awhile but not long-term. Living a life with the sole purpose of avoiding pain is not freedom. It's not the life most people want to live. What if the key to freedom was not in finding new ways to prevent or cope with the pain but to actually heal the pain?
The therapy I provide focuses on healing the pain. To heal trauma, clients need more than talk therapy alone. They need an evidence-based modality that leads to lasting changes. Using IFS (Internal Family Systems), I help people deeply connect with themselves, heal the pain driving their unwanted behaviors, and find safety within their own body.

Many men have been wounded by other men in the past and tend to isolate to protect themselves. Sadly, this often leads to loneliness and lack of meaningful male friendships. Healing Through Connection groups offer a safe, non-judgmental, confidential group setting where men can face their fears of other men and have healing experiences with one another. While men may have been the source of your trauma, in Healing Through Connection groups men become the source of healing. There is power in learning to be authentic and experiencing what it is like to be accepted just as you are.
