In my 20+ years of experience I have found that therapy works because it offers the time and a safe space to explore our internal world and our relationship with others. Research shows that we can transform negative self beliefs and intrusive feelings by processing childhood trauma. I specialize in body-centered psychotherapies, EMDR and IFS, to achieve this goal. Many diagnoses are missed, such as PTSD and ADHD in adults until they listen to their bodies. Clients will learn that our bodies possess the capacity to be rewired when we heal trauma, and will regain their full lives.
I focus primarily on early childhood and adult trauma. Our body stores traumas we can't process in symptoms such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, low self esteem. I use tools such as EMDR, mindfulness, and IFS to aid clients in accessing our natural ability to heal.
I use a neurobiologically informed approach to therapy and offer psychoeducational tools clients will be able to use throughout their lifetime.
