Elective Interpersonal Effectiveness
Candidates for this group are seeking to participate in a non-medically oriented (not targeting a diagnosis) group to increase their interpersonal effectiveness. Members value working within a growth and awareness arena rather than a "treatment" setting. Likewise, members value being active contributors to a team effort. Common to the membership is a strong desire to seek interpersonal solutions to their distress. They do this through examining their patterns of perceiving, relating to, and thinking about themselves and those around them in the "here and now" of the group. Integration of interpersonal effectiveness skills enhances the work of the group.
