I recovered from my own chronic depression & pain following a 1984 accident. We'll use cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, & stress-reduction tools to antidote fear, develop coping skills, and support your maximal healing & comfort now. We'll find a balance between making inner & outer changes, & accepting yourself as is.
I have counseled for 28 years with a wide variety of people including those with physical illnesses, disabilities & chronic pain, couples, CEO's, the unemployed, teachers, athletes, writers and returning veterans. I studied with a number of master therapists like authors Dr. Michael Kerr of Georgetown University & Stephen Levine. Sessions are 60 minutes.

Here's an online, supportive group for pain patients. Topics include: coping & adjustment skills; depression; the roller coaster of emotions i.e. grief, anxiety, frustration; changes in relationship; self-esteem; sleep; treatments; doctors; Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) & medications. I come from 17 years of disabling chronic pain from a 1984 accident plus clinical work. I'm OK now! Patients include those with back & neck pain, RSD/CRPS, fibromyalgia, migraines, TBI & arthritis. We look at what you can change & how, versus what to accept. Learning to meet your experience with merciful awareness, courage & resourcefulness, you can "sail the storm" kindly.
