Does your child, age 10 or under, need help connecting to themselves and others healthily? Do they need to heal trauma/exposure to conflict/violence? Do they need improved emotional regulation skills? To replace self-harm with self-nurture. I help children heal, grieve, and grow. My focus is on assisting children in developing a healthy sense of self and experiencing their power cooperatively (rather than competitively). Sometimes, I work with parents to help them heal their own childhood trauma and be emotionally available to their children. Other times, I work with families to uncover and change dysfunctional patterns.
I specialize in play therapy, sand tray, and expressive arts and have post-grad training in working with couples, families, children, & groups, I integrate energy psychotherapy, redecision therapy, gestalt, play therapy, art, yoga, & sand tray. This allows me to draw on strengths offered by both traditional talk therapy and experience-based therapies.
Parenting is hard. As a military mom of four boys, I've experienced emotional and behavioral challenges that come with cross-country moves and deployments. I've experienced the power of play and expressive arts on a very personal level. Play therapy helps children express themselves in their natural language so they can grow and heal.
