My goal is to help you to discover your resources and to find and use your power to take a more active stance in your life. I provide counseling for adults, couples, and young women on relationship issues, power dynamics, conflict resolution, and issues around confidence, anxiety, or general 'stuckness', dealing with these concerns as women.
I also provide counseling for mother/daughter pairs to help them build a stronger relationship, even as they grow individually.
Talking is great for developing knowledge & insight. Sometimes, though, talking about something just isn't enough to gain real understanding. I provide primarily traditional counseling, which I sometimes augment with targeted movement. I have found that this often leads to insight & positive life-building action in ways that can be difficult with words alone.
My work combines traditional counseling with the philosophies and movement strategies of Aikido, a Japanese martial art. I have been practicing Aikido since 1993, and hold a 4th degree black belt from Aikikai Aikido International, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
