The group will develop a larger understanding of the connection between automatic thoughts and reactions allowing for a choice to adjust and formulate more adaptive experiences.

Assertiveness is a skilled approach to communication. This group is an open forum designed to teach strategies to reduce contentiousness and promote an active discourse. The group will use a practical approach and real world examples to explore conflict. The group will emphasize behavior types, emotions and behaviors, making and declining requests, clarity/empathizing, receiving criticism, and power dynamics. The goal of the group is to provide members with skills to navigate difficult situations with confidence and self-advocacy.
