If you are feeling bad about yourself and aspects of your life, therapy can help improve your self-esteem, mood, and the quality of your life. I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with a wide range of issues. Some are confused and unhappy about their relationships or troubled by their performance at work or school. Others come into therapy because of a crisis in their lives, such as illness, divorce, or the loss of a loved one. I also see people who are having trouble adjusting to a life transition, like going away to college or becoming a parent. Still others are bothered by events from the past. Whatever the issue, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and/or angry are common.

Since each person and his or her needs and situation is unique, my approach is informed by my own openness and willingness to understand and empathize with those that I work with. Through exploration of present and past experiences in the context of a safe therapeutic relationship, I help people develop an awareness and understanding of their lives, let go of painful experiences, achieve more satisfying ways of managing challenging situations, and find more gratifying choices and directions in their lives.

In addition to a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, I completed post-doctoral training and have held faculty positions at major teaching hospitals. Earlier in my career I trained as a clinical social worker and received an MSW. My experience spans over twenty-five years with children, adolescents and adults. I have also received training in EMDR and adult psychoanalysis and am in private practice in White Plains.
