I provide support and guidance to people who want to reduce their stress, struggle and reactivity so that they can be their best selves in life and in relationship with themselves and with others. I emphasize holistic approaches that increase self-awareness and change unhelpful habits. Depending on your needs and goals, our work together is likely to uncover old, limiting patterns and beliefs and to involve a compassionate exploration and reworking of these things. This collaborative process occurs within a framework of mindfulness, psychodynamic psychology, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I firmly believe in a person's innate ability for healing and change.
I work with a variety of conditions that are exacerbated by, or result in, life stress. This includes depression, anxiety, hair pulling, skin picking, panic attacks, relationship difficulties, feelings of overwhelm, health conditions, physical symptoms, problems with sleep or eating, and significant life events and transitions. I also provide behavioral medicine consultations for lifestyle changes.
As a health psychologist with a concentration in psychoneuroimmunology, I have a thorough understanding of how emotions affect the mindbody. People I work with report improved mood, increased self-acceptance, decreased anxiety, and improved motivation, energy and health.
