In my experience, a person who seeks therapy wants solutions that work. The fact that you are considering therapy is proof that you have more strength, and solutions, than you may be aware of today. Therapy is not about eliminating the inevitable problems in life but, rather, learning how to cope effectively and grow when they occur. Therapy is essentially a college course where you're the only subject. An effective therapeutic alliance can help people build the life that they want and deserve. My style is direct and active. I rely on honesty to guide our work together.
My approach combines Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution-Focused interventions. My mission is to incorporate creative strategies that foster your ability to actively improve your life. I am a retired military officer, with extensive training and experience dealing with trauma, and PTSD, and their impact on relationships, careers, and quality of life.
Certified as U.S. Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (SAP): Licensed professional who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
