I specialize in working with high achievers and people struggling with excessive worry and perfectionism, or those who feel as though they are "never good enough". I like to work collaboratively, and enjoy supporting and guiding those who are on a journey to improve themselves in their personal and professional lives. Over 25 years of experience and training in a variety of approaches to therapy allow me to match the therapy I provide to each client's needs. I help my clients manage reactions that often accompany life stressors and can become overwhelming.
I have expertise working with diverse populations, especially those navigating between cultures. I also work with women issues and value all types of diversity. In therapy, I emphasize creating a safe emotional space. I am transparent, and maintain a balance between empathic listening and active feedback.
My approach to therapy is client centered. I believe in my clients' capacity to become their best selves. I have worked at a community mental health clinic, an anxiety treatment center, The University of Texas at Austin Counseling and Mental Health Center, and am now in private practice.
