I believe in starting where my client is at! I began my journey of becoming a therapist by attending The University of Florida and studying Psychology. I went on to receive my Master's in Social Work from Barry University. I’ve been licensed as a psychotherapist since 1997. In the beginning of my career, I specialized in children and adolescents dealing with ADD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and other related issues. Since starting in private practice in 2005, I have treated adolescents and adults specializing in eating disorders, marital issues, divorce/blended families, depression/anxiety and adolescent behavior disorders.
I am providing counseling to clients who are seeking individual, group, couples and family therapy. I would consider myself mostly a cognitive behavioral therapist, however, I am eclectic at times, i.e., psychodynamic or solution focused. I am also a Clinical Supervisor, of 20 years providing clinical supervision to interns who are seeking licensure.
I am a very compassionate but assertive therapist, and I believe in having a positive attitude. I truly believe in starting where you are at. I want the goals in therapy to be your goals, not my goals. I do not have the magic wand, but I will guide you through your journey of healing. Woman's Divorce Group
DIVORCE IS DIFFICULT AND PAINFUL. Whether you are currently in the process of getting divorced or already divorced, this is the group for you. It will be a place to express your feelings with others who can truly understand. It will be a place to get support from others who understand. The group will provide guidance with navigating good communication with your soon to be ex-husband/already ex-husband, as well as how to help your children (if you have any) cope with the divorce. This will be a safe place to be yourself while going through your painful journey. COST IS $40/SESSION.
