Many adults may seek the help of a therapist when they are feeling depressed or anxious. Often they might be experiencing disillusionment, discontent, doubt or restlessness but are not sure of the reasons why. Many times they seek to alleviate the painful emotions resulting from loss, or dysfunction in interpersonal relationships. I believe my role is to assist these clients in determining the source of their discontent and developing coping skills to live successfully and happily, in spite of life's challenges. I especially enjoy working with adults experiencing midlife transitions and the associated challenges of the afternoon of life.
Problems such as marital discontent, caregiving issues, career choices, and unresolved grief issues present themselves. Physical, emotional and spiritual challenges confront the midlife client. This is potentially a time of tremendous growth and positive change. I look forward to working with you as you seek to embrace a balanced, passionate and more authentic life.
I work with individuals, couples and groups. (See group information below). I have served as a consultant and have made numerous presentations and facilitated grief sensitivity training for area businesses, churches, hospices, and schools in the community. Please feel free to contact me for further information about my practice or to join a group.
