You're here for two reasons: 1. Either to work on a persistent challenge or 2. To work through the repercussions of COVID. Either situation presents strong emotion. I will talk with you about both - they're connected - but I will gently (and insistently) remind you of the good things that are or that should be. Fundamentally, psychology twins with philosophy by asking the big questions (Who am I? What do I need? Why is it so? Could it be otherwise?). It carves a different path, however, in that it offers answers. I want to help you fall in love (again? the first time?) with your journey and, by extension, with the human journey.
By accessing a natural mechanism in the brain, EMDR, more than any other training, has given me first-hand experience of the brain's hardwired capacity to heal. Combined with my love of the brain, my humanistic approach to optimizing functioning, and my passion for the pursuit of excellence, I can promise growth to those who truly choose to WORK with me.
I do not work with individuals who utilize or are planning to utilize psychotropic medication(s) to manage their psychological symptoms or distress. I do, however, work with people interested in phasing out psychotropics for symptom management. I am also a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC).
